Storing Your Furniture

If you have to store your furniture, we can offer you a trouble free move into and out of our container store. Your goods will be stored in wooden storage containers measuring 8 feet x 7 feet x 5 feet, each of which takes 250 cu ft of furniture and effects and are brought on site in our specialist container lorries. This storage system requires less handling, greater security, facilitates ease of movement and allows us complete control over all the goods you send to store.

Our estimator having visited your home will have indicated in his estimate how many of these containers will be required to store the contents of your home.

Upon arrival at the house we take a full and detailed inventory, after which the furniture and effects will be blanket wrapped and placed into the containers. Each box is numbered and the door replaced, your goods are then not touched until you require them at your new house. The containers are removed from the lorry with a fork lift truck and placed in our purpose built warehouse. After the removal you will receive in the post a detailed storage inventory, your container numbers and your first invoice for one month's storage. For one container loads we invoice for three months for economy.

Please make sure that you do not send anything to store that you may need suddenly – we have been asked for passports, car documents, winter/summer clothing, skis etc.

To remove the goods from store, we need, depending on the time of year, 5 days notice which is also dependent on the size of your removal. It is important to make sure that your new house has suitable access for either our large container lorries or, if the access is difficult, our smaller container lorries.
